As part of experiential learning, students in Grades I and II visited the local fire station to learn about fire safety and the important role of firefighters. The students were thrilled to see the fire engines and were eager to understand how firefighters respond to emergencies and extinguish fires.
The fire station officers warmly welcomed the students and explained the different firefighting tools and equipment used during rescue operations. They demonstrated various methods for extinguishing fires and explained the precautions to take during a fire emergency. One of the most exciting experiences for the children was getting an opportunity to hold the water hose and experience the force of the water. They also observed the functioning of other firefighting equipment, which made the learning experience practical and memorable. The officers further guided the students on fire safety measures, especially precautions to follow when using firecrackers and kitchen appliances. The visit helped the children understand the importance of staying alert, being responsible, and staying safe around fire.
The educational visit was an enriching experience that combined learning, awareness, and hands-on exploration. It left the students excited and more aware of fire safety and the valuable service firefighters provide.
